The software of the forward-collision mitigation (FCM) system of the engine control unit (ECU) may be faulty. As a consequence, the FCM-ECU software may activate the brake for longer than necessary and the driver may react by applying additional braking. The resulting rapid deceleration of the vehicle can increase the risk of rear-end collision.

The software in the Active Stability Control (ASC) system may be faulty. As a consequence, the adaptive cruise control (ACC), forward - collision mitigation (FCM) and anti-lock braking system (ABS) may not work properly which may lead to accidents.

The engine control relay unit (ECU) or valve lift control relay can heat up abnormally. As the result the engine can stall whilst driving.

The door lock mechanism in the door latch might not operate properly in high temperatures. As the result the door may not be locked properly and could open while the vehicle is moving.

The parking brake lever shaft might be stuck due to corrosion or/and the auto-adjuster of the rear brake piston assembly might be inoperative. The parking brake might work with lower efficiency or might be inoperative.

Corrosion may occur inside the windscreen wiper motor. This may lead to failure of the windscreen wipers while driving which could lead to an accident.

A malfunction of the engine's software has been detected and the spark plugs do not work properly. As a consequence, the main battery may not be charged, causing the vehicle to stop because of a low battery which could create a hazard for passengers and other road users.

High voltage variations within the system that controls all of the vehicle's electrical components can cause the vehicle's lights and/or the windscreen wipers to malfunction.

For cars not equipped with ACC/FCM (Active Cruise Control / Forward Collision Mitigation system), the HMSL (High Mounted Stop Light) might permanently glow slightly when the lights are on. This potentially may lead to a road accident. For cars equipped with ACC/FCM, on the other hand, there is a risk that a malfunction in the stop light circuit will not be detected, causing a potential risk of incorrect functioning of the ASC system, which may lead to a road accident.

The sleeve of a switch in the Brake booster may have a crack and could break. As a result of this, the brake pedal might not release after applying the brake and the car could then come to a halt.

Due to improper machining of the oil seal installation hole in the transfer cover, the oil seal may come loose from the hole. This can lead to loss of automatic transmission fluid from the automatic gearbox, thus, there is a possibility of poor gear shifting and illumination of the warning light. In the worst case scenario, the vehicle can no longer be driven.

Due to improper programming of the engine control unit, the forward collision mitigation system may improperly judge the walls in a tunnel to be another vehicle. As a result, the system may automatically operate the brakes to reduce the vehicle speed.
