On vehicles with a rear drum brake, the operational wear of the brake lining and use-related settlement of the drum brake may result in a loss of pre-tension on the parking brake cables and thus on the parking brake lever adjustment nut. As a consequence, the setting position for the adjustment nut could change when the parking brake is applied, thus extending the range of parking brake lever travel. This could result in the vehicle not being properly secured by the parking brake.

A poorly welded towing eye may have been included in the vehicle's tool kit. As a consequence, it could break off during towing and the vehicle being towed would lose forward propulsion and, on becoming detached, the towing rope may hit people or objects.

The safety-belt buckle for the rear left seat could open unintentionally. In this case, the passenger in the rear left seat would no longer be protected by the installed restraint system.

The welded joint between the seat mounting and the backrest frame may not be secure and may break. In this case, the backrest may fail if the vehicle is involved in an accident.

Owing to pressure pulsations occurring in the fuel lines and engine vibrations during operation, vibration may be transmitted to the diesel fuel filter cover. This may lead to a fatigue crack on the filter cover in the area of the inlet fitting and the possibility of a diesel fuel leak. This can lead to a traffic hazard.
